Somers Forge story is a history of forging excellence.
Established in 1866, we have built a heritage to be proud of through generations of British engineering and manufacturing. As part of the Folkes Holding Group, our story began in 1697 just 4 miles away from the current Somers Forge site, with Lye Forge. Over the years we have manufactured everything from amour for the battle of Blenheim to the anchor for the Titanic. One of the benefits to our heritage is that we have the skills, knowledge, and experience, in our employees. With continuous improvement investing in our people, plant and premise. We have utilised our skills to reduce the impact on the environment with our commitment to preserve the environment shown by holding ISO 14001:2015.
Today we are still producing the strongest forgings to perform under the harshest of environments and designed to withstand intense pressure, in all climates and environments. Offering a complete forging solution ready for industry, including heat treatment, machining and testing. Our unrivalled equipment means we are very unique in being able to produce a flange, only a couple of kilos, up to a ship shaft that weighs over 40 ton and is 23 meters long.
